I like that Judai (at least in the early part of the series) can take a loss. It’s something that’s sorely missing from the original Duel Monsters series, where characters tend to act like it’s just about the worst thing that’s ever happened to them. He doesn’t get upset or catatonic over it, and he isn’t even a sore loser. He gets right back up says “good duel!”, and continues on with his day something I think is really important; especially for someone who’s used to winning and seems to have such a big head. Because it’s keeping into perspective that even though they’re at a school for Dueling it really is (most of the time) just a game, and like any game you need to have a good spirit about you when you play.
